Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School affirms that, consistent with the Diocesan Mission statement, each Catholic School has a special responsibility for the pastoral care of students.
This statement is intended to provide Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School with our own Pastoral Care and Behaviour Management Policies consistent with Diocesan Policies and our School Vision Statement.
‘I have come that you may have life and have it to the full’.
(John 10:10)
Pastoral Care at Our Lady of the Rosary is foundational to who we are, what we do and why we do it. Our policy is based upon shared Catholic values through which families and teachers work together to provide a positive supportive environment characterised by trust, cooperation and respect.
Our Lady of the Rosary is a community that provides a strong sense of wellbeing, belonging and security where students are given every opportunity to be affirmed with dignity and worth and assisted to grow to the fullness of their potential. We acknowledge the right for all Our Lady of the Rosary community members to feel safe.
Throughout the school, we have shared values which provide teachers and children with the language to discuss behaviour in a consistent way. Our Mercy values of Compassion, Respect, Hospitality, Service and Integrity are reflected in our school rules:
Respect Self and Others
Respect Learning
Respect the Environment
Our commitment to these values therefore means that at OLOR every child has the right to be safe and to feel safe: physically, psychologically and emotionally.
The North Shore Cluster School Counsellor, Andrea Yastreboff, is based at OLOR and is available to meet parents and students after referral from the School Principal.
